THE LAND OF ADVENTURES, for the adventurous who love cultural discovery and eco-solidarity. Reach the south of the country from Antananarivo by private car. Not forgetting eco-solidarity detours such as ANTOETRA and IKAMBY. You'll cross the Imerina and Betsileo high plateaus and discover Madagascar's parks and nature reserves, such as the ANDRINGITRA mountain ranges and the ISALO massif. The tour ends on the south-west coast, in the fishing villages of Ifaty, before returning to Antananarivo by car or plane.

Day 1

ANTANANARIVO

Welcome and assistance at IVATO airport, transfer to your hotel.

Day 2

ANTANANARIVO - ANTSIRABE – AMBOSITRA 6h drive by car

Briefing. Free lunch in Behenjy, possibility of tasting foie gras, specialty of the region. Stop at the town of Ambatolampy known for its aluminum pots, visit a family workshop on site.
Arrival in Antsirabe, also called the city of water, place of many thermal springs developed by Norwegian missionaries, which has become the second industrial city of Madagascar with its large modern houses. Visit of many craft workshops such as the cutting of precious stones and zebu horn objects of "Chez JOSEPH"; place of recycling and embroidery to make small toys, and miniaturized some means of transport, and embroidery workshop of "chez MAMY".

Day 3

AMBOSITRA - ANTOETRA – SAKAIVO 3 h drive and 5 h walk

Depart after breakfast, ready to move on for the adventure to Zafimaniry country. On the way, it is possible to meet the miners. The Zafimaniry is a country with its own culture and it is considered a tribute apart from the 18 others that exist on the island. From the rural town of Antoetra, we can already see the typical architecture of the country: the wooden house whose windows, doors and beams are carved without any trace of metal. These ingenious ideas are passed down from generation to generation. In Antoetra where the hike begins, bare mountains and a superb 360° panoramic view will be crossed, before reaching the Sakaivo valley. The environment changes very quickly once we reach the bottom of the valley because contact with this population gives us an impression of a different world, the great waterfall makes its noise. After the installation in the village cottage, a great asset to meet the village chief.

Day 4

SAKAIVO – IFALIARIVO-ANTOETRA 7h walk

After breakfast, we continue our walk, to be able to deeply explore the life of the other residents in Tetezandrotra, Ifaliarivo and other villages: the way of life, … thanks to the greenery of the humid tropical forest; the picnic will be taken at noon. Carved wooden huts still retain the primitive architecture of certain villages, where everyone still respects the oldest. Community life still plays great role in their society. On our way back; the accompaniment of people traveling to the large rural town of Antoetra is impressive: merchants of toaka gasy (local rum), and those looking for basic necessities, the traffic becomes more and more interesting during the day of Saturday market. Day 5

ANTOETRA-FIANARANTSOA-TSARANORO 7h drive by car

Departure by car from Antoetra to reach the tribal capital of Betsileo. Picnic on the road at noon. We do not miss the landscape of the highlands; the mountains, the rice fields, the terracotta construction After the free lunch, we continue the road through the landscapes of the Betsileo tribe. Day 6

VALLE TSARANORO-MORARANO-ANDRIPAOTSY 7h walk

After a good sleep of tranquility at the hotel Departure early After breakfast, the Tsaranoro valley visits then it is time to set off to go to the high mountain Andringitra where the Bôby peak is located at 2658m; it is the 2nd highest peak, and the first in the south, and it is the only accessible peak in Madagascar
The starting point for the long hike is in Morarano. River, Bara villages raising zebus, rice terraces decorate the edge of the mountain before reaching the first campsite. Opportunity to meet ring-tailed lemurs. ; Ravinea glauca endemic palms “palm adapted to 1500m to 2000m altitude” surprise us. Day 7

ANDRIAPOTSY-PIC BOBY-CASCADE ANDRIANALIKA (Andringitra massif) 8h walk

Early departure at Cousteau breakfast to resume the path to the famous Pic Bôby. On the climb it is advisable to wear warm clothes. 3 stages differ through the chain that leads us to the Peak. On arriving at the peak; the local guide is grateful to introduce you, to meet you, to explain all the information concerning the Pic. The duration of the admiration will depend on the opinion of the visitors. As for the return; Well-prepared pork-free picnics await us at noon. And in the afternoon everyone gets ready to continue the course. Time limits us to stay in the cool natural pool of Andranolava. One of the source of the water which creates the great waterfall of the park. The beautiful view reserves us a place for the observation of these two great waterfalls: Riandahy and Rianbavy. As for the foot of the mountain, the cave and the primary forest of Belambo are preserved. Villages, rice fields as far as the eye can see will be offered by the landscape of Namoly before reaching our final destination, towards the great waterfall of Andrianalika.

Day 8

ANDRIANALIKA-RANOHIRA WATERFALL 4h walk and 5h drive by car

Departure on foot to join the car. Picturesque landscape from right to left following the footpaths towards the bottom of the Tsaranoro valley. Granite rocks, green landscapes and herds of zebus, ready to work trampling the rice fields will end the journey. The time to have a good time with the porters, guide and the cook is insufficient, but in the south it is another atmosphere to discover. The direction of the southern road to Ranohira then takes on an air of solitude with granite monoliths and more sparse vegetation. Passed to the town of Ihosy, the vast and very extensive plateau of Ihorombe leads us to the famous massif of Isalo at the end.

Day 9

RANOHIRA-CANYON DE MAKI-canyon de rat –NAMAZA 1 hour by car and 7 hours of hiking

After a good shower, good morning breakfast. We are ready to explore the crumbly rock massif. A walk through the African savannah. The tribute Bara, a great breeder of zebus and thief of zebus, are happy to keep the large territory, exceptional habits and customs will oblige the tribute before getting married; without zebus no woman. Day 10

NAMAZA-NATURAL POOL-IFATY 4h hike and 5h by car

The walk begins easily with the crossing of a plateau that looks like an African savannah. Then begins to climb towards the steep ridge on a well laid out path with its stairs for the safety of "other" less adventurous tourists... As for the plateaus, the watercourse for about 1 hour, arrival at the natural swimming pool of Isalo , swimming possible natural its welcoming cool waters, in a dark setting where the sun never pierces the clear waters. Departure for the great Malagasy south. Day 11

IFATY

Ifaty is the paradise beach where the end of the stay of some people often ends, so it is well deserved to stay a while to enjoy it.

Here it is in FREE DAY mode. So people are free to choose the activities according to their desire such as:
- A trip in a traditional sailing canoe to dive it either with a simple snorkel mask or why not in snorkeling mode. It is possible to picnic with local ingredients such as lobsters, slipper lobster, crab or fresh fish from the lagoon.
A zebu cart ride to visit small baobab parks, the primitive forest of Madagascar and the place of preservation of the freshwater turtle
- Visit of the saline, or the mangrove nursery to preserve the mangrove
- Kite surfing and whale watching.
