Day 2
ANDRAMBOVATO-VILLAGE AMBALAVERO
Early departure after breakfast. Crossing hills and valleys, we first pass through Ambalavero, a remote village far from the town. The village is still ruled by a royal family who take it in turns to hold the village's sacred fetish. The queen is very respectful, and the villagers respectfully accept her reign, as her orders are often carried out politely. So we're in for a real change of scenery: our visit allowed them to welcome us in the traditional way, and they pride themselves on sharing their experiences with visitors. We have direct contact with the locals, especially the children, and we're surprised by the people around us. During the trek, we may come across people distilling Malagasy artisanal rum.
Overnight with villagers in tents.
Day 3
VILLAGE AMBALAVERO-AMPITSANAKANA
After breakfast, it's time to continue our adventure through the forest and fields on the hills; villages of the Tanala tribe will still be crossed. The Tanala are forest tribes, who once lived by hunting and gathering, but now in the modern world they are already entering the world of agriculture and some are already entering the world of commerce. Not forgetting, of course, their traditions, which the local guide will be happy to tell us about during our trek.
Overnight in tents.
Day 4
AMPITSANDAKANA-TSARAMASOANRO-FIANANANTSOA
Under a good night's sleep, under the sound of nature. It's time to set off again to continue our trek. At Amptsandakana, we board a pirogue to cross the Namorona river. At the end of our walk, the transfer car will be waiting to take us back to Fianarantsoa.
